Testimonials ... a big thank you to all our participants. We anticipate each is about to enjoy rewarding cricket seasons

‘I can highly recommend Russell and his coaching methods, he is one of the most respected of coaches in the South East with a breadth of experience and knowledge. To paraphrase a recent comment from a talented Under 17 – who said … “I hear and understand Russell more than any other coach who I have worked with” … CH Senior Squads Coach.

‘thanks Russell …… I very much appreciate your work and very much value your skills in getting the best out of Ch….. I view it as a very powerful relationship in its shared passion for the game and the combined endeavour for excellence. I do think your longstanding work and the game itself have taught him how to deal with the ups and downs of life and given him essential balance from an early age right to the present as he moves through University.’

‘in addition to being able to stretch the most gifted with rigorous application – Russell has the patience and perseverance to bring up to the mark those just below that line. He is a most highly valued and reliable member of our Club’s coaching delivery and is notably at ease with all age groups’ … DM Director of Cricket

You are a legend. I made 125no in my first League match of this season. Your technical precision, processing method and game plan worked perfectly.

‘An update from yesterday. H made an excellent 114 which led to a comfortable 1st team win. Backing it up with some useful spin bowling and a good slip catch rounded off a good day. As you might imagine he is quietly delighted.’

‘Hi Russ …… we drank to your coaching this evening. Jc had made a few useful scores but suddenly hit his straps. He hit 83 not out to carry the team home and just said what a difference to his confidence you had made. I wanted you to know the value of your work.’

‘L …. and I have just read your fabulous reference.
We are both very grateful for all your encouragement and this endorsement. It was a wonderfully timed booster.
Thank you for all your patience and extended hard work with him. It is much appreciated by me and more importantly by L …. himself.’

‘Russell … I know Jm will appreciate your message. your influence on Jm’s development both as a young man and a cricketer has been most profound. We are all immensely grateful’

‘Thank you Russell for your considerable input with the team on Sunday. Thought B was a star. Nurtured and encouraged in your way, he will become a future star for the club.’

‘Hi Russell …… J made his 1st team Prem Div’n club debut aged 17. Coming in at 5 against two former County bowlers he batted through scoring 37 out of a winning 60 run partnership with our ‘overseas’ and completed the victory with an emphatic square cut. He’s a bit of a star in the clubhouse this evening. I know you’ll be pleased.’

‘Thanks for a great session on Saturday. Some very valuable advice has definitely sunk in with I … re emotional control.’

‘Thank you for your input and help over the past ten weeks. Your contribution has been invaluable to our Club and everyone has enjoyed and commented how much they have gained from your coaching knowledge and experience’ …… Club Secretary

H would like you to know that in his first match of the season he took 7 wickets with 6 bowled and 1 stumped all of which included a ‘hat trick’ His leg spin work with you has really paid off.

W bowled really well today taking 4 wickets with quality leg spin. He was chuffed with his bowling and then had a good innings to top off a good match. Your work with W is always appreciated and most of all by W himself.

‘Just needed to let you know that your innings plan worked really well for L. He finished with 51 not out chasing down a stiffish target and was very pleased how it all worked for him. He says he’s looking forward to his next session with you.’

‘Hello ….. it’s S here again. Today I scored 71 not out in a senior club league match. It was a difficult wicket so I think I did well and was pleased to battle through and score runs. I also bowled tidily and picked up 3 wickets. I just don’t want the season to end now!!’

‘Hello …… its S here. I got 50 not out today. My 3rd so far this season.I structured my innings well and early on scored most of my runs in 1’s and 2’s before hitting bigger shots as I got more comfortable. C u soon’

‘Hello …… it’s S here. Today I played my debut match in the senior club league. I got 50 before being run out by an amazing direct hit from the boundary. I batted for 30 overs and built my innings well. I’m pleased.’

‘Ji is batting well and looking in good shape but finding ways to get out in the 30’s, the most recent being caught by the fielder’s elbows!!! He really is looking a better and better player each time. You’ll be pleased to read that one of your other pupils – Wl … scored his maiden century for the club and is now looking a solid fixture.’

‘Hi Russ …… Ch….. here. Just to let you know that I batted well over both weekend matches. 39 in the Prem on Saturday pleased with how I handled 2 county quicks and then today a good 74 not out opening up in the Development League seeing us through to a win. Can we do a couple of net sessions in the week.’

‘By his own high standards and after a bit of a failure yesterday, today Jm top scored with a good 52 not out in the victory. His innings included what he said was one of his best ever clean strikes for 6 over long off. Jm says he is concentrating also on playing straighter through the legside after a couple of lbw’s when playing too square early on.’

‘Russell …… You’ll enjoy reading that Jk top scored with a retired 30 in his junior league match this morning. He was pleased with his knock’

‘Hi Russell …… good news – after a wet start, cricket has at last been played at the club. J’s first outing. A mature, patient innings in a predictably low scoring match. J brought his team home from no. 3 with a well paced 48* on a tough seaming wicket. Your other two lads also showed good composure with important contributions.’

‘Thanks for being in contact. I am now playing in and enjoying the Essex league.’

‘Cl…. really has enjoyed his sessions with you and has clearly benefited from them. Thank you for your patience and attention’

‘Hi Russ …… just scored a big hundred. You’re a wizard.’

‘Just had to say a big thank you for very enjoyable and comprehensive coaching sessions. I now feel very confident going forward.’

‘T.. is really looking forward to his 1st session tomorrow. He tells me he has ‘checked you out’ on the internet and that you are very well qualified.’

‘Ol… so enjoyed his batting session with you, he is keen to have another this week and more next.’

Hi Russ …… I finally got to spend some time at the crease. Combination of ear bashing and others’ – dare I say – inadequacies. 30 not out was very pleasing. It’s been a while coming but great now it’s here.’

‘Kent All Stars won!! 28 not out. Missed one or two but had a great afternoon. Thank you.’

‘Hi Russell …… thank you. I would not be at the bowling standard where I am now, without your help. It is much appreciated.’

‘Bowling good with some particularly memorable deliveries. Batting – edged earlier than planned – keeper took a spectacular diving one handed catch then panned everything else for the rest of the match. An uninvited inconvenience from Murphy’s – No that wasn’t his name!’

‘H’s cricket went well at school this year especially his bowling which I know you both worked on for consistency. His batting was also consistently reliable and he is being promoted to captain next year – so all those match tactic chats have been of great benefit to him also.’

‘Another good club junior season has been topped off by County representative age group selection for several of our lads. Thank you for your invaluable contribution.’

‘Following the serious injury and your help with bowling rehab, all in all the future looks very positive. E has been re-invigorated in enjoying her County cricket again and we have very much appreciated your help.’

‘C’s bowling has been a strong feature for him this season – all the more pleasing as he is only up to 4944 repetitions!!!’

‘I carried my bat to be 55 not out. I played a steady, faultless innings taking very few risks. Thank you for all your help and advice. You’ve really given me the confidence to know what is achievable and to bat upper order as I did today. Thank you.’

‘L …… had a very good session at Canterbury and we are delighted that he has shown himself virtually at his best.’

‘H said he would have bowled Aaron Finch round his legs long before he got to 163.’

‘Hi Russell …… the boys really enjoyed yesterday – will be in touch to organise next sessions.’

‘Would like to thank you for a really good training session, Suffice to say that O….. loved it and can’t wait for his next one.’

‘Our young son has grown up so fast in the last year under your tuition.’

‘That’s great advice and always wecome. I’ll be chatting that through with Li… He has been so focused since his Sundays sessions with you. He has been doing all those drills you suggested like getting into a good position and hitting the ball late and his wrist position and finish when bowling. He is really up for his final assessment with the County.

‘Wanted to say Thank you. H… had a great Cup Final. He guided his side to victory with a Captain’s innings. He says that although pleased he still has a lot more that he wants to work on to improve but after just a few sessions with you he feels a more aware and confident player. With your help he’s determined to make County next year!!’

‘G…. has recovered from his injury and can’t wait to get going again!!’
